The Ethiopian Diaspora spans the globe and stretches across all oceans and continents. It can be said that the sun never sets on the Ethiopian Diaspora. Ethiopian Diasporas left their country for variety of reasons; political, social and economic. Few have been able to return home for short and long visits, few others came home for good and still others have not been able to come back for variety of reasons. Although these people who did not make it to their homeland have been preoccupied with their day to day activities making a living in their adopted country, their attachment to their homeland is still intact. Therefore, they depend on information obtained via the radio and other media about their country of origin. However, the information they received are often unreliable, biased and mostly fabricated and thus, they are vulnerable to exaggerated and unfounded information aired by sources such as the VOA, Deutshe Welle Amharic services and web-sites such as the Ethio-media and Ethio-review etc. in North America and Europe and shameful local private tabloids such as Menilik, Addis Zena, Asqual, Netsanet, Seife Nebelbal and Tobia etc. Further, they become victims of professional politicians who have been associated with the former military regime and who make their living through fundraising from innocent Diaspora Ethiopians and other opposition parties with similar agenda inside and outside the country.
