Sellassie webpages meant to be non-political, because we do not advocate a monarchy, or even a constitutional monarchy, but a republic. How does the Federal Republic of Ethiopia looks like after 30 years since the death of the Emperor Haile Sellassie I? In May 2005 the new elections took place.
I watched on the Internet the Meles' interview to BBC, the Ethiopian flag on his right... The same Mengistu' star on the tricolor -- they can't restore the lion, they have to stay with the Marxist star... Why? Why the lion can't be restored?
The communist heritage, which the same Meles fought with arms, is more acceptable, than the Imperial symbol!

Ethiopia's last emperor Haile Selassie was executed by the previous government led by Mengistu Haile-Mariam, the country's special prosecutor, who declined to be named, said Tuesday, January 2.
The prosecutor told the First Criminal Bench of the Federal High Court that officials of the Mengistu regime ordered the killing of Haile Selassie on charges that the late emperor was hindering Mengistu government from getting local and international support.
The prosecutor presented to the bench a written evidence on the execution order, noting that the previous government also barred Haile Selassie from getting access to any services during his detention.
Haile Selassie's families and friends were also prohibited from paying visits to the imprisoned emperor.
